The aim of the Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) One-Year Fellowship, which will take place from July 2027-June 2028, is to train physicians in the treatment of children and adolescents with SCD. Graduates of the SCD Fellowship will be positioned to participate in and develop SCD programs within pediatric hematology/oncology centers, general pediatrics or adolescent medicine groups, or in private practice. The fellowship will comprise clinical rotations (at least 70%) and up to 30% research, which can be tailored based on the fellow's interest. Joining the SCD One Year Fellowship offers several opportunities for professional development:</p>
<ul>
<li class="MsoNormal">Educational topics: Didactics; rotating topics by members of the SCD faculty in areas including hemoglobin electrophoresis interpretation, neuropsychology, psychology, pain management, palliative care, integrative health, and more.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Presentations: Clinical and research presentations, including at internal conferences and retreats.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Leadership: Attend case conferences and participate in treatment discussions.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Training: Comprised of clinical rotations (at least 70%, includes inpatient and outpatient clinic, and multidisciplinary specialty clinic) and up to 30% research.</li>
</ul>
<p class="MsoNormal">Note: This fellowship will take place from July 2027- June 2028.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Applicants must have completed their residency training in pediatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine and show a strong interest in pediatric hematology/oncology. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a fellowship in pediatric or adult hematology/oncology.
