The Experimental Therapy in Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic is seeking qualified applicants for a one-year clinical-research Fellowship dedicated to developing expertise in clinical trial conduct and patient care in lymphoid malignancies including lymphoma and CLL. The Fellowship is a one-year program designed for candidates who have completed a Residency in Internal Medicine.
This position is in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology and encompasses both systemic therapies as well as current and future cellular therapies including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell and other immune effector cell therapies. The fellow will work with incremental autonomy with supervision by staff physicians in the lymphoid malignancies program who are responsible for the management of patients with Hodgkin lymphoma, B-cell and T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) as well as the use of transplantation and cellular /immunotherapy. The overall goal is for fellows to improve their skills as a clinical investigator.
The expectation is to obtain in-depth training in new therapies under investigation, follow patients on clinical trials, report results of treatment and present at national meetings in abstract as well as manuscript form. Fellow’s clinical responsibilities consist of ambulatory rotations based at Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center. No inpatient rotations or call responsibilities are required. Additionally, he or she is expected to participate in writing research protocol(s) for experimental drugs and design clinical trial(s).
