MaineHealth Cancer Care is seeking a Hematologist to join the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at its new York location. The MaineHealth Cancer Care York practice will be based in nearby Wells and will serve York Hospital and the broader southern Maine community. A vibrant and scenic community located on the Gulf of Maine, York is within easy driving distance of both Portland, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues in an established hematology/oncology practice that is an integral part of the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network. Hematologists within the practice evaluate and treat patients with a range of benign and malignant hematologic conditions and are supported by subspecialists throughout the MaineHealth system. Participation in system-wide multidisciplinary subspecialty tumor boards is encouraged, and a 1 day/week subspecialty clinic at the primary MaineHealth Cancer Center campus in Scarborough/Portland is available for candidates with subspecialty interest.
MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated, state-of-the-art, cancer and hematology care across a network that cares for over 8000 new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grown significantly over the past three years and exceed 80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups. Prior experience in oncology within an academic health system or academically oriented private practice is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered. MaineHealth Cancer Care in York qualifies as a rural site for the MaineHealth system, with a highly competitive compensation package, work schedule, and relocation support.
At MaineHealth, we recognize the value each team member brings to our organization. Total compensation packages may include, based on eligibility, recruitment payments, relocation assistance, productivity incentives, and quality incentives.
The clinical base salary for this position is $520,000.
In addition to base pay, MaineHealth offers comprehensive benefits, recognition programs and career growth opportunities.
