Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X, and In Residence series) – Leader of Early Phase Experimental Therapeutics Program
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Division of Hematology/Oncology are recruiting for a new clinical faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level to lead the Early Phase Experimental Therapeutics Program.
Candidates' primary responsibility in this position will be to help oversee and grow the clinical trial portfolio of the Early Phase Experimental Therapeutics Program at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. This program, comprised of multiple faculty members across different oncology subspecialties as well as nursing, pharmacy, and research staff, provides early phase (phase I) and basket trials to patients with a wide variety of hematologic and oncologic diagnoses. Candidates are expected to see patients up to 4 half-days per week in outpatient clinics located at the Mission Bay campus of UCSF in addition to serving as Principal Investigator on clinical trials, which typically consist of both industry-sponsored studies and investigator-initiated trials developed through “bench to bedside” research at UCSF. There are no inpatient responsibilities with this role. Candidates should have a commitment to patient care, have received appropriate training in clinical research, and demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical and/or translational research, including substantial early phase trial experience.
Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be ABIM certified or eligible in Medical Oncology. The appointment will be made in the HS Clinical, Clinical X, or In Residence series at a rank compatible with the candidate's qualifications. Compensation for these specific clinical faculty positions will be supplemented above academic norms.
Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should apply online via AP Recruit at https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/JPF06276.
Please submit a curriculum vitae, cover letter, and contact information for three references. Applicants' materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
The total compensation for this position ranges from $322,489 - $420,530, with potential for clinical incentives.
Total compensation at the University of California, San Francisco includes your base salary, which is determined by your rank and step at appointment, and negotiated pay for Health Sciences Compensation Plan members. Faculty who are members of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan may also be eligible for additional incentive pay.
