The Clinical Director of the Cancer Program will provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership for the growth and development of cancer care at UTMB Health. The Clinical Director will report to Antonio Bianco, MD, PhD, Senior Vice President and Dean, John Sealy School of Medicine, and will partner with executive and clinical leaders to advance excellence in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research, and education across UTMB's hospitals and ambulatory network. A former NCI-designated oncology center, UTMB is emerging from a clinical collaboration agreement and rebuilding cancer care with the long-term goal of NCI designation. Over the next several years, as part of this key strategic priority for UTMB, the new Clinical Director will establish a successful program through strategic recruitment and partnerships with Chairs and other health system leaders to develop integrated and coordinated care pathways that will deliver the highest quality of care and patient outcomes.
The Clinical Director will be a highly respected leader and relationship builder who understands the specialized clinical infrastructure and comprehensive patient-centered care required for a successful oncology program. The successful candidate will be a physician leader (MD or DO) who is board-certified in an oncologic field, with a record of successful leadership in a complex academic health system. Honest, approachable, collaborative, and adaptive, the Clinical Director will be aligned with UTMB's strategic priorities and committed to its vision.
Salary will be commensurate with Academic rank, qualifications, experience, and educational background. In addition, UTMB offers a superior benefits package, an excellent retirement program, a relocation allowance, as well as many other potential incentives.
