Job Duties
- Provide comprehensive hematology care in inpatient and outpatient settings at Harris Health facilities, including Ben Taub Hospital and Smith Clinic.
- Participate in inpatient consult services and outpatient hematology clinics, with clinical effort aligned to programmatic and operational needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, and other specialties serving Harris Health patients.
- Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives relevant to hematologic disorders.
- Engage in scholarly activity as appropriate to rank, including clinical research, Translational work, or educational scholarship.
- Participate in call coverage and service responsibilities consistent with Harris Health clinical operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD degree.
- Board certified or board eligible in Hematology (Internal Medicine certification required).
- Eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and care of underserved populations.
- Interest or experience in clinical research, quality improvement, or program development preferred but not required.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.

The faculty member will hold an academic appointment at Baylor College of Medicine and will work closely with colleagues across the Section of Hematology & Oncology and affiliated institutions.
