Rutgers Cancer Institute is seeking a clinical researcher specializing in pediatric bone marrow transplant, with strong clinical and educational skills. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in pediatric bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Responsibilities would center on providing care to children, adolescents and young adults receiving stem cell transplantation, cellular therapies, or gene therapy. Unique opportunities exist for collaborations between clinical and research programs, clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, novel cell therapy constructs, and participation in a broad range of teaching initiatives with medical students, housestaff, and fellows.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on a strong foundation of excellence, including preeminent research, renowned clinical services, a CART cell therapy program, gene therapy, and prominent educational programs. The academic appointment will be in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School with a resident faculty appointment at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Faculty at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will have the opportunity to engage in exciting teaching and mentorship activities for fellows and graduate students. The position will be .7 cFTE, with clinical responsibilities in BMT clinic at Rutgers Cancer Institute-New Brunswick.
Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and be fellowship trained in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Must have training in bone marrow and stem cell transplant with interest in building an active clinical practice supporting clinical trial accruals and contributing to ongoing clinical and translational research. Preferred experience in building a clinical program and evidence of strong teaching skills/evidence of successful mentorship. Attractive clinical research packages available for qualified candidates.
