Job Title: Associate Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment The Department of Pediatrics Patient Care at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking candidates for a full-time Associate Professor position to develop a translational research and clinical program in the Leukemia/Lymphoma Section. This role offers opportunities for growth within an active group of clinicians, physician scientists, and basic and translational investigators. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with institutional research and clinical programs and must qualify for and maintain a simultaneous, formal appointment within the Adult Leukemia program. The position entails contributing to a unified program in clinical trials, drug development, and scientific discovery. The faculty member will have access to extensive patient resources, core facilities, bioengineering and novel compound development platforms, animal facilities, and training programs. Responsibilities include research, clinical care, and teaching. Candidates must have clinical experience in Leukemia/Lymphoma; the ability to work effectively across pediatric, AYA, and adult populations; and strong, demonstrated evidence of prior program-building, such as developing clinical trials, research infrastructure, or multidisciplinary initiatives. Applicants must have served as a national principal investigator (PI) for therapeutic or drug-development clinical trials, preferably involving early-phase or novel agents. Experience with successful FDA approval processes, emerging therapeutics, and bioengineering-based approaches is strongly preferred. The role includes establishing a clinical trials portfolio, maintaining an active academic practice, clinical research; and supporting an educational environment for trainees in pediatric oncology. Given the diversity of the Texas population, bilingual proficiency (English-Spanish preferred) is highly desirable. Applicants should also demonstrate strong funding support, ideally through NIH grants, major foundations, or substantial clinical trial portfolios. Candidates must have a medical degree and either be fully licensed or license eligible in the State of Texas. Completion of an approved pediatric residency program is required. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics and board certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or Medical Oncology (or foreign equivalent), withcertification required within four years of employment. A minimum of five years at the Assistant Professor level or ten years post–clinical degree is required. At least 5 years’ experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent or 10 years post medical degree The salary range for this position is $269,963-$322,586.
