We provide health care services at White River Junction VA Medical Center and 7 community-based outpatient clinics in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Newport, and Rutland, Vermont; and Keene and Littleton, New Hampshire. We’re an innovative care center within the VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1), which includes medical centers and clinics in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island.
Staff physicians in the hematology/oncology section, maintain professional, technical, and administrative knowledge, competencies, and skills to provide effective, timely and quality responses to patients' clinical needs and problems. Patient ages range from 18 through the geriatric years. All staff comply with credentialing and privileging and other monitoring and evaluation requirements. The physicians maintain high clinical standards that are carried into decision- making processes and continually strive to maintain and enhance teaching skills to effectively teach fellows, residents and medical students. They participate in oversight of physician assistants and nurse practitioners in our section. The physicians comply with current standards for medical record documentation and residency supervision.
Requirements:
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree
- Full, active, and unrestricted license, Degree of Doctor of Medicine
- Board certification in Hematology / Oncology
- U.S. Citizenship – All qualified candidates encouraged to apply. Open to U.S. Citizens but non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
Recruitment / Relocation Incentive, free liability protection with tail coverage provided and Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): A student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
