Academic Physicians - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

Salary Range: Assistant Professor: $165,000-$190,000 per year; Associate Professor: $195,000-$250,000 per year; Professor: $250,000-$320,000 per year

 

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation, is seeking full-time faculty members at any rank with a focus on benign hematology and sickle cell disease.

 

Appointees will provide direct patient care to children, adolescents, and young adults with malignant and non-malignant hematologic disorders, including leukemia and lymphoma, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and bleeding disorders. Appointees will also contribute to the broader mission of the Hematology/Oncology program, including teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity in basic, translational, or clinical research. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible. Appointees will join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty and learners in the Biological Sciences Division, Pritzker School of Medicine, UChicago Medicine (UCM), and the University of Chicago. The Chicago Hematologic Malignancies Program is a multidisciplinary team comprising faculty from the Section of Hematology/Oncology in Pediatrics, the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program in Pediatrics and Medicine, and the Department of Pathology. The Program is an integral component of the Cancer Service Line of the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance (CCHA), a partnership between UCM, Advocate Children’s Hospital, and NorthShore University Health System. The CCHA is responsible for the care of the largest population of children in Illinois, with multiple sites across the region.

 

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology.

 

We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate clinical and academic leadership and program-building expertise, with proven abilities in clinical trials, translational science, collaboration, and mentorship. Opportunities exist for academic and clinical program leadership for appropriately qualified candidates.
