The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute (CBDI) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting an additional pediatric hematology/oncology physician for our growing program. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) is a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked by U.S. News & World Report (2025-2026) in 8 pediatric specialties including pediatric cancer (#37 nationally). We are also ranked as the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida for the third consecutive year and the #4 Best Children’s Hospital in the Southeast. JHACH is the only US hospital outside the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. location that is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine system.

The CBDI seeks a pediatric hematologist/oncologist who will be based at select outpatient care centers in Tampa and Wesley Chapel as a part of our expansion into the “North Market”. The primary clinical focus of this position will be classical hematology with opportunities to collaborate with various disease-based teams in the hematology division, such as sickle cell disease and bleeding disorders. The ideal candidate for this position at these locations will be board eligible/certified in pediatric hematology/oncology with a record of clinical excellence. He/she will have the ability/desire to provide exceptional patient care, continue to develop relationships within the region and be the “ambassador” for our pediatric hematology program in the community.  New graduates demonstrating these skills will also be considered.

Our team members have a collegial relationship and enjoy an excellent quality of practice. Our group includes nocturnists so there are no first-call for nights. The Tampa location will be largely an outpatient practice (some inpatient service dates will be required at the main campus). Depending upon qualifications, a part-time or full-time faculty appointment can be pursued in the Division of Hematology, Department of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

The CBDI aims to be the center of excellence and the premier cancer and blood disorders center in Florida for children, adolescents, and young adults.  We strive to be recognized nationally as leaders in the field of pediatric cancer and blood disorders by participating in the areas of clinical, translational, and laboratory research. The CBDI treats the full spectrum of pediatric cancers and blood disorders and offers patients a wide range of therapies, including cutting-edge immunotherapy such as our CAR-T cell therapy program. Our oncology and hematology programs take a whole-team approach to treating cancer and blood disorders. We work alongside specialists and subspecialists across our hospital, including social workers, child life specialists, psychologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, patient educators and nutritionists to meet our patients’ needs conveniently in one location.

The CBDI is among the largest and most advanced programs in the southeastern United States, recognized for excellence in both patient care and clinical research. Our patients benefit from access to cutting-edge clinical trials, supported by our affiliation with The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, which expands opportunities for participation in emerging therapies and innovative treatments for childhood cancers. As members of the Children’s Oncology Group and the exclusive pediatric affiliate of Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, we are deeply committed to advancing pediatric oncology. In addition to providing exceptional clinical care, we actively promote participation in medical education and research to further our mission of improving outcomes for children and families.
