JOIN THE BC CANCER TEAM

Internationally renowned for excellence in clinical care and research, BC Cancer offers a

province-wide network of over 2,700 specialized physicians providing leading-edge care

within BC’s largest tertiary cancer services system. With supportive colleagues, opportunities

to advance your career and research interests, and regional centres in communities to match

every lifestyle, discover where a role with BC Cancer can take you. There are a number of

academic and educational resources and opportunities, through strong connections with the

BC Cancer Research Institute and the University of British Columbia.

BC Cancer is a provincial cancer program, including six cancer centres that offer equal opportunities in terms of technology and dedicated colleagues; your choice of centre may focus on cancer care specialty treatments and overall lifestyle preferences. As a provincial team, there is ongoing collaboration and resource sharing among centres, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across the province.

As a Hematologist, you will use your experience and qualifications to provide quality cancer care to our patients. Clinical experience in the management of lymphoid malignancies and plasma cell disorders is required and preference will be given to individuals with additional (1+) years of research training/clinical fellowship beyond hematology/medical oncology residency training requirements.

Please consider applying if you have obtained or are working towards Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology (or an international equivalent). You must also be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. In addition, you should be eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. You must be eligible for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada to apply.

BC Cancer has several hematology openings with both full and part-time opportunities available. Learn more at jobs.bccancer.bc.ca, or connect with our recruitment team: medicalstaffrecruitment@phsa.ca.

Career growth is fostered through clinical leadership opportunities, appointments with the

Cancer and the care provided to patients of BC Cancer.

BC Cancer is bringing cancer care closer to home with the planning of four major redevelopment projects. Within the next five years, we plan to open additional cancer centres in Surrey, Burnaby, Kamloops, and Nanaimo.
