Position Summary

The Department of Medicine is seeking a hematologist-oncologist to serve as the Program Leader GI Malignancies within the Section of Hematology/Oncology. The successful candidate will lead the GI Malignancies program esnuring excellence in clinical care, research and education.

This position is ideal for an ABIM-Certified hematologist-oncologist with experience in GI Malignancies. The candidate should have a demonstrated interest in clinical trial development, translational research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Oversee GI Malignancies program including clinical operations, research initiatives, and education.
  • Clinical Care: Provide exceptional patient care in GI Malignancies.
  • Research & Clinical Trials: Develop and lead investigator-initiated and collaborative clinical trials supported by the Cancer Center’s Clinical Trials Office. Work closely with laboratory scientists to advance translational research.
  • Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance: Ensure adherence to FACT Standards, FDA regulations, and other relevant policies.
  • Administrative Leadership: Manage financial, operational, and human resources for program growth and sustainability.
  • Education & Mentorship: Train and mentor fellows, residents, and medical/graduate students in hematologic malignancies, transplantation, and cellular therapeutics.
  • Institutional Collaboration: Engage with the Cancer Center leadership and the broader university community.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent.
  • BE/BC in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
  • Eligible for a medical license.
  • Experience in developing and conducting clinical trials.
