The Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly motivated physician for a one-year Hematology Fellowship in Amyloidosis, funded through the Amyloidosis Research Consortium Fellowship Program. This prestigious position provides a unique opportunity for specialized training in systemic amyloidosis, preparing the fellow for an academic career in this rapidly evolving field.

Program Highlights

  • Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Training

    • Gain expertise in the diagnosis and management of systemic amyloidosis, with clinical exposure across hematology, cardiology, nephrology, and neurology.
    • Participate in outpatient dysproteinemia clinics (three days per week) and structured rotations in specialized amyloid programs, including cardiac, renal, and peripheral nerve amyloidosis clinics.
    • Hands-on experience in state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics, tissue typing, and advanced imaging techniques (MRI, ECHO, nuclear cardiology).
    • Engage in innovative cellular therapy and bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for amyloidosis through rotations in the CAR-T and BMT services.
  • World-Class Research Opportunities

    • Conduct investigator-initiated research leveraging Mayo Clinic’s dedicated amyloidosis database (10,000+ patients) and biobank.
    • Collaborate with leading experts in amyloidosis proteomics, AI-enhanced diagnostics, and novel mass spectrometry methods (MALDI, ESI).

How to Apply

Eligibility Criteria

  • MD or equivalent degree with completed hematology or oncology fellowship.
  • Strong interest in amyloidosis and dysproteinemia research.
  • Demonstrated commitment to an academic career in hematology.
  • Prior research experience and publication record are preferred but not required.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the U.S.
