Duke’s Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity with a focus on non-malignant hematologic disease at the main campus in Durham, NC. Candidates must be BE/BC in hematology and have completed a residency in internal medicine or equivalent and a hematology fellowship.
Our clinical and research programs are expanding, and we are actively seeking junior to mid-career faculty members interested in being part of Duke’s vibrant Hematology Division.
We seek faculty members with a focus on clinical practice. Key clinical and research strengths include programs in Hemostasis & Thrombosis, Cytopenias, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Apheresis, and Sickle Cell Disease. Teaching opportunities are available across the spectrum of learners, including Hematology/Oncology fellows, interns, residents, and medical students. Physicians with a passion for clinical effort, educational activities, and/or research are encouraged to apply.
Unique opportunities available within the Hematology Division:
• Ability to grow current clinical and translational research programs to complement basic science research programs.
• A transition clinic with pediatrics for patients with sickle cell disease, as well as a shared clinic opportunity with maternal fetal medicine.
• Involvement with the clinical laboratory services (Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories; the Transfusion Service).
• Opportunities for clinical effort and leading clinical research studies at off-campus locations.
• Increasing role for telehealth opportunities.
• Participation in the apheresis service; a robust clinical service line and research program.
• Access to the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Core Laboratory in support of research efforts interfacing with Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and other interdisciplinary collaborations.
