Position: Hematology Attending - Benign Hematologist
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Benign Hematologist to join our renowned Hematology team at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This position offers a balanced role with 0.75 dedicated to clinical duties and 0.25 to administrative responsibilities. The role involves providing care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, while also engaging in cutting-edge clinical research and grant-funded programs within two highly specialized centers. Located in Newark, this opportunity presents as an ideal location to treat an underserved population while only being a short commute away from NYC.

Key Highlights/Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center:
- Provide outpatient clinical care, including attendance at the weekly comprehensive care clinic and inpatient consultations.
- Participate in data collection for grant reporting, and assist with renewals.
- Engage in clinical research as PI/coPI, initiate investigator-driven studies, and participate in QI activities.
- Support regional and federal programs by attending regional meetings and virtual calls.
- Adult Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center:
- Deliver ongoing care to adult patients with hemoglobinopathies including outpatient and inpatient care and RDU consultations.
- Participate in the weekly sickle cell clinic and other comprehensive clinics
- Contribute to research through data collection for long-term databases and grant requirements.
- Participate in ECHO patient care conferences and continuous QI efforts.
- Division-Wide Responsibilities:
- Mentor residents during hematology/oncology ambulatory rotations and guide medical students on their hematology rotations.
- Attend regional and national meetings, as required by grant obligations.
- Participate in on-call rotations, division meetings, and care for classical hematology patients (e.g., iron deficiency anemia, ITP).
