The Division of Hematology and Oncology supports the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC), West Chester Hospital (WCH), University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute, and the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Division includes multiple clinical centers of excellence, a Hemophilia Center, a Therapeutic phase I program and serves as a referral center for the Tri-State region.

The Division of Hematology and Oncology is undergoing a major expansion and is seeking faculty candidates at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor level. This recruitment is part of a significant investments made under the stewardship of Dr. John C. Byrd, Chairman of Medicine, to serve our academic mission and to achieve NCI-designation. These are clinical academic mission positions, with protected time for research, teaching, or administration. These positions are supported by dedicated administrative staff and advanced practice providers. Compensation is highly competitive with the opportunity for incentives based on clinical and/or academic productivity.

We are seeking two (2) faculty candidates that have an interest in classical hematology. Candidates at the Associate Professor and Professor Level will be considered for the inaugural Joseph Palascak Endowed Chair in Thrombosis and Hemostasis. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions
The individuals selected will engage in patient care, clinical investigation, and teaching of residents and fellows. This is an academic mission position: effort distribution is negotiable for non-clinical time including research, teaching, or administration.

  • Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Thrombophilia and Bleeding disorders.
  • Hemolytic anemias/red cell membrane disorders.
  • Cytopenias.
  • Myeloproliferative disorders.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Completion of a four-year Internal Medicine residency.
  • Completion of a three-year fellowship in Hematology or Hematology-Oncology.
  • Ohio State Medical License and DEA license.
