The Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Valley Children's Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Program Director (CPD) of Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. In partnership with the Medical Director of the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, the CPD will focus on developing the newly established Cellular Therapy program and work towards achieving FACT accreditation and building an exemplary autologous stem cell transplant and cellular therapy program at Valley Children’s. This is a full-time position, and the primary focus initially will be to establish the cellular therapy program, for which protected time will be provided. The CPD will work collaboratively with the Medical Director and 12 pediatric hematology-oncology physicians and 6 advanced practitioners.
The stem cell transplant and cellular therapy program Director will work closely with the Laboratory Technical Director to provide clinical oversight of the Cell collection and Cell Processing facilities. This new program has complete institutional commitment with dedicated resources, team and personnel support. A recent large endowment that has been earmarked for this program provides the necessary foundation to build and support this program. Valley Children’s has averaged around 15 patients referred out per year for auto-BMT and cellular therapy over the past several years. Once this new program has been fully established, the CPD will oversee its daily operations, ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care and be responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Additionally, the director will play a crucial role in continuously evaluating and improving program performance, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance the program's objectives and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- · Board certification in pediatric hematology-oncology
- · Fellowship training in pediatric bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy
- · 3-5 years of clinical experience in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy and interest in a leadership role in establishing and developing the cellular therapy program at VCH
- · Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting
- · Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
- · Commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research
- · Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the state of California
