Versiti Blood Center of Michigan (Versiti MI) is recruiting for a full-time Medical Director/Senior Medical Director with experience in cellular therapy collections and cellular processing for our state-of-the-art cellular processing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  This position offers the opportunity to expand the cellular therapy capacities of the lab as involvement in clinical trials.  The successful candidate will join our growing team of Transfusion Medicine physicians who oversee all aspects of cellular therapy collection, cellular therapy processing, cord blood banking, and apheresis coverage at our partner hospitals.

Responsibilities for this position: The Medical Director/Senior Medical Director leads all aspects of cellular therapy including involvement in collections, cryopreservation and manufacturing of cellular products, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, quality/process improvement as well as collaboration with clinical hospital partners.  The successful applicant should have experience in transfusion medicine, apheresis, and cellular therapy and will actively participate in the development and execution of strategies for growth and expansion of the cellular therapy program.

The Medical Director/Senior Medical Director joins a team of clinical pathologists and classic hematologists in the Medical Science Institute (MSI) at Versiti Blood Center working in blood center, hospital, and research settings across a 6-state area.

Required Experience:

•      M.D. or D.O. Degree
•      Board certified in clinical pathology, internal medicine, or pediatrics
•      Board certified in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine
•      Experience in Transfusion Medicine, cellular therapy collections and processing
•      Licensed or eligible for a Michigan Medical License

The position title and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
