Chief of Hematologic Malignancies

Rutgers Cancer Institute seeks a nationally recognized clinical researcher focused in lymphoid, plasma cell,  or myeloid malignancies, with proven experience and a distinguished record of original clinical research, exceptional clinical and educational skills, and a commitment to the Institute's mission, to serve as the Chief of Hematologic Malignancies at Rutgers Cancer Institute and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Chief will have oversight of the clinical practice, clinical research activities, and faculty mentorship and development, with the opportunity to build on a solid foundation of excellence, including preeminent research, outstanding clinical services, and prominent educational programs. The Chief will have the unique opportunity to develop the hematologic malignancies clinical program in alignment with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the RWJBarnabas Health partner strategy.

The Chief will lead a well-established clinical and research Section of Hematologic Malignancies with a portfolio of first in human to phase 3 clinical trials (industry, cooperative group and investigator-initiated trials). The Chief will be key in shaping the growing Section, including leading currently active and forecasted clinical and research faculty recruitment.

Must have MD/DO/MBBS, be ABIM certified, board certified/eligible in hematology or medical oncology, have completed a 3-year fellowship, and either have or be eligible for a NJ Medical License. Leadership experience in an academic medical center is strongly preferred.  Academic appointment will be in the Department of Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Academic rank (Associate/Professor) will be commensurate with experience. Attractive recruitment package exists.
