The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology is recruiting a full-time faculty member for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
This position would be based at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC) in Seattle. The selected candidate would care primarily for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), build a research program (with a focus on clinical trials in AML), and participate in housestaff and fellow education/training in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. This individual would also be expected to participate in Divisional activities and teach in the hematology/oncology first year medical student course.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date is July 2023.
The selected candidate must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and subspecialty training in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
